Step Up / Down Transformer
The bridge between international voltage standards. Essential for operating imported machinery (US/Japan/EU) in India, or testing products meant for export.
What It Does
Global voltage standards vary (e.g., India uses 415V/50Hz, USA uses 480V/60Hz, Japan uses 200V). If you plug a machine into the wrong voltage, it will burn out instantly.
The Solution: This transformer converts your local grid voltage to the specific voltage required by your load.
• Step Down: Reduces voltage (e.g., 415V Input → 200V Output for Japanese machines).
• Step Up: Increases voltage (e.g., 415V Input → 480V Output for American machines).
Working Principle
It relies on the magnetic Turns Ratio principle:
Step Down: Secondary coil has fewer turns than primary.
Step Up: Secondary coil has more turns than primary.
