Furnace Transformer
Specialized ultra-heavy-duty transformers built for Arc Furnaces and Induction Furnaces. Engineered to withstand frequent short circuits and massive current surges.
What It Does
Furnace Transformers are the powerhouse behind steel plants. They are used to step down high grid voltage (33kV/11kV) to very low voltages (100V - 1000V) but with extremely high currents required to melt scrap metal in Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) or Ladle Furnaces (LF).
The Challenge: During the melting process (especially the "bore-down" phase), the electrodes frequently short-circuit against the scrap metal. Regular transformers would fail instantly; our units are mechanically reinforced to survive these daily shocks.
Design Features
Built differently to handle the "Arc":
Key Features
Robust Mechanical Design
Reinforced tank and core to withstand high electro-mechanical forces.
Enhanced Cooling
Options for OFWF (Water Cooled) or OFAF (Forced Air) for high-temperature zones.
Harmonic Filtering
Designed to handle the high harmonic distortions created by rectifiers/arcs.
Wide Tapping Range
Large number of tap steps to fine-tune voltage for precise temperature control.
